“HOUSES FORM A NEIGHBORHOOD, PEOPLE MAKE IT A COMMUNITY"

HUDSON BEACH, SEA PINES AND SEA RANCH AREA OF HUDSON, FLORIDA

YUP, THAT'S ME WITH MY 26" RED FISH! (the photo may be bad but the fish was Great)!

Welcome to the Sights and Sounds of Hudson Beach. Placed in the Northern part of Pasco County lays (what I call), a little fishing village called Hudson. If you were to drive down U.S. 19 you would pass it by with the blink of an eye.

Hudson is best known for its fishing and the Hudson Beach Area. With a Drive down Clark Street you will come to a 4 way stop. Here is a little Ice Cream parlor which is known for the unusual tastes of their Ice Cream. Continuing down, you will see Ollie Oysters, their specialty? Why Oysters, all kinds of Oysters, fried, baked, bar-b-qued, if you like Oysters, this will be a unique experience for you!

Further on down you come to the beach area, where you can swim, or boat. You take your pick. Sam’s is at the Beach also. (See http://www.hudsonbeachpeach.com for write up). This establishment has been in this little town for years and known for the outside atmosphere along the water. If you’re lucky you will hear the band playing at Sam’s and enjoy the villages’ local talent.

Hudson attracts residences from all over the world. You have snowbirds, first home buyers, families, people that love the water and of course, the fishing is excellent! Take it from me, I LOVE MY FISHING!!

Many of the canals here were dug in the late 1950 and the housing really started around the 1960’s. Of course back then they were not worried as much about the structure of the home standing up to Hurricane force winds as they are today. In the 1980 Florida Banned building on Ground level and now many of the homes in the area are on Stilts.

Of course, there are plenty of things to do if you don’t want to be on the water. Some like to play golf. Here we have plenty of Golfing Communities. Three right off the top of my head that I can think of. Many that you can just walk out your back door to holler fore, if you wanted!

Also, we have the shopping mall. It’s not exactly in Hudson, but it is just down the street away from us. But, if we chose to go North, Springhill is now building their first Mall. So, we are smack dab in the middle of both of them. You can take your pick of which way you want to go any day of the week.

We have many area Doctors, and Nurses. The Hospital is just beyond the East Part of U.S. 19 and Hudson Avenue, so it’s easy to get to. This is always nice to know if you need medical attention or have an emergency.

If you ever get a chance to mosey on down this way for a relaxing day or night, give some of these places a try. I think you’ll be glad you did. By the way, if you’re looking for a home, I’ll be glad to help as I work, live and play in Hudson, the Hudson Beach Area and of course on the water!

TOM'S AWESOME SNOOK!!!  YUMM

Tips for Finding the Perfect Neighborhood

1. Make a list of all of the amenities that are close by in the neighborhood you are considering as your new residence.  Keep in mind what distances and routes to each of these places are acceptable and what are not.

2. Determine what the best features of the neighborhoods are.  This is especially helpful if you are deciding between a few different neighborhoods.

Are there parks nearby?
Is it scenic and visually appealing?
Are there quiet areas, streets, culs de sac?
Are the people friendly in the neighborhood?
Is the neighborhood clean?  Yards, streets, parks?
Are there nice trees and foliage?
Do the lots have large or small yards?
Are there walkways and are they easily accessible?
Is it a safe neighborhood?
What are the market values of the homes in the area?
Are there many houses for sale?
How long ago was the community developed?
What is the average age of the people in the area?
Are there families with small children in the area?
What is the proximity to schools?
Are there community events or organizations?

3. Walk around in the neighborhood.  The best way to determine the cleanliness and friendliness of the neighborhood is to walk around in it and meet its residents.
